About Nisemonogatari
Nisemonogatari (偽物語), published as light novels in 2008-2009 and aired as an anime adaptation in 2012, is the second title of the first season of Monogatari Series following Bakemonogatari. Nisemonogatari is divided into two stories: Karen Bee (Episode 1-7) and Tsukihi Phoenix (Episode 8-11).
Nisemonogatari is deeply related to two Koyomi’s younger sisters: Karen and Tsukihi Araragi, who are called Fire Sisters. In addition to them, some new important characters are featured in Nisemonogatari.

Karen Bee (Episode 1-7)
Here is the introduction of Karen Bee (かれんビー) consisting of first seven episodes of Nisemonogatari. It follows the protagonist Koyomi Araragi and his sisiter Karen Araragi, who is younger than him and older than Tsukihi.
Plot
The main character Koyomi Araragi’s little sisters Karen and Tsukihi are investigating a weird charm circulating among all the middle schoolers around the town. The weird charms are something like curse, which result in relationship breakups between the middle school students.
The older sister Karen Araragi uncovers who builds buzz for the charms intentionally. That is a con man named Deishu Kaiki, and Karen tries to prevent him from spreading the cursed charms. However, she failed to stop him, and he brings a apparition to Karen instead.
Highlights
The Fire Sisters, Koyomi Araragi’s sisters and the main heroines focused on in Nisemonogatari, is one of the most attractive point in Karen Bee, especially Karen. Karen and Tsukihi are known as the Fire Sisters of Tsuganoki 2nd Middle School, and the pair forms a rescue squad or heroic duo solving problems among middle school students around them.
Nevertheless, their brother Koyomi consider the pair as the “good guys” and the actions of the Fire Sisters as nothing but a game. They are irredeemable fakes. On the other hand, the Fire Sisters retort “we’re goodness itself”. Karen is a black belt in karate and is certainly strong physically but not necessarily strong enough to beat anyone who does bad things.
According to Koyomi, “the first requirement of being a hero isn’t being right. It’s being strong”. But yet, the Fire Sisters make a bold effort to defeat the evil. They completely take after their brother’s personality.
In Nisemonogatari, you can see a little different faces of Hitagi Senjogahara from Bakemonogatari. She looks violent and aggressive especially to Koyomi Araragi, but that sometimes stems from her grace and love for him. Senjogahara kidnaps Araragi at the early stage of Karen Bee since she tries to protect him from the fraud Deishu Kaiki.
She is one of the victims he deceives, so she understands how terrifying he is. Therefore, it is Senjogahara’s grace to kidnap and tie up Araragi for him not to run into the ill-omened fraud. She also looks cool and dry, but some things make her feel a little jealous.
Araragi has fun and gets along with lots of heroines besides his girlfriend Senjogahara, and she tells him about this: “Regardless of what you play, with whom, that is your choice. But is any of it ever gets the slightest bit serious, I’ll kill you.” At the same time, she also says “Speaking as a girlfriend, it’s actually quite wonderful to have such a popular boyfriend”. That’s funny.
What’s the funniest part in Karen Bee is the scene of Araragi and Mayoi Hachikuji’s talking. They play with the “courage” game. You can make almost anything sound positive by adding the word “courage” like this:
The courage to lie to your lover. Not bad, All you’re doing is simply lying, but tacking “courage” onto it makes it sound like you’re lying for your lover’s sake. Even though she hasn’t said anything suggesting that.
The courage to betray your comrades. The end result is that you’ve betrayed your comrades. But that gives the impression that you’ve somehow protected them. Even though she hasn’t said anything suggesting that.
The courage to be a lazy bum. It really can do anything. You’re just meaninglessly whiling away your life, but that makes it sound like you’ve positioned yourself in poverty all for some greater goal.
Tsukihi Phoenix (Episode 8-11)
Tsukihi Phoenix (つきひフェニックス) is the second half of Nisemonogatari centering on the Koyomi Araragi’s younger sister Tsukihi. Nisemonogatari, the second part of the first season of the anime Monogatari Series, finishes with the four episodes (Episode 8-11) of Tsukihi Phoenix, which follows seven episodes of Karen Bee.
Plot
Koyomi Araragi studies hard for the college entrance exam during the summer break, and a whirlwind day in August starts with the “tooth-brush” game with his sister Karen Araragi. And then, they meet a woman named Yozuru Kagenui who is a specialist in an apparition and a girl-looking corpse doll named Yotsugi Ononoki.
They cope with the problems of immortal apparitions, however, it is found that their target is not a vampire, Araragi or Shinobu Oshino. The pair tries to defeat the apparition of Phoenix.
Highlights
In Tsukihi Phoenix, Koyomi Araragi’s love for his family and his sisters’ love for him are well described. His younger sister Tsukihi Araragi is to be killed by the specialist in apparitions Yozuru Kagenui and her attendant Yotsugi Ononoki since she is possessed by an immortal bird, which is an apparition of the Dying Bird (a type of supernatural cuckoo).
And, they point out that Tsukihi is not Koyomi’s real sister or human being but an apparition. However, his though that she is definitely his sister is never changed. He fights with Kagenui and Ononomi with help from Shinobu Oshino at the risk of his life. It is also an impressive part that Karen tells her love for Tsukihi. Araragi asks Karen if she can be able to die for him and Tsukihi, and she replies “I could. With a smile of my face”.
We can’t help talking about the “tooth-brusing” game with Araragi and Karen. Karen asks him to introduce his junior Suruga Kanbaru to her, and he offers a game which is unfair for Karen since there is nothing in the request for him. Karen accepts the game immediately. Koyomi brushes her teeth in the game and she will win if she is able to bear for five minutes.
Once the game starts, she feels kind of ticking but pleased by his messing with the interior of her body. Thin hairs are stimulating the delicate parts of her body, so it must feel good. At the same time, he hears her moan and it makes him feel really weird.. his heart race. He thinks that she is really cute and even the cutest in the world. Araragi somehow tries to cool down and rethink that is a hallucination.
However, she is amazingly cute and erotic in this scene without a doubt. Additionally, Karen wears a skirt (Tsukihi’s one), which is really rare.
Shinobu is one of the cutest and most adorable characters in this anime Series especially at the donut chain restaurant Mister Donuts. She really loves the donuts of Mister Donuts while she feeds on blood of human.
