A Couple of Cuckoos isn’t just another typical harem anime that focuses on the male protagonist surrounded by multiple heroines. It has an intriguing plot. Nagi Umino learns the shocking truth that he was switched at birth after 16 years. On his way to meet his biological parents, he coincidentally meets Erika Amano, who is on her way to meet her fiancé. It turns out that Erika was the one switched with Nagi, and he discovers that he is in fact Erika’s intended fiancé. Additionally, other captivating heroines join the mix, creating a complex web of relationships.
The anime series of A Couple of Cuckoos released its first season with no less than 24 episodes in 2022 due to high expectations. Adapted from Miki Yoshikawa’s romantic comedy manga published since 2020, it is produced by Shin-Ei Animation and SynergySP.

How many volumes does A Couple of Cuckoos have?
The manga series of A Couple of Cuckoos has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2020, authored by Miki Yoshikawa, who is also the manga artist for Flunk Punk Rumble and Yamada and the Seven Witches. There are 18 volumes published so far in A Couple of Cuckoos(the latest 18th volume released in August 2023).
What chapter does the A Couple of Cuckoos anime end on?
The anime series of A Couple of Cuckoos finishes with Episode 24 “All That Matters Is That You Two Are Happy,” which matches Volume 7 Chapter 56 in the manga series. That’s to say I recommend to start reading the manga from Volume 7 Chapter 57 onwards.
The final episode of the anime also adapted Chapter 60, which is the last chapter of Volume 7. Therefore, you can naturally enjoy the story starting from Volume 8. However, if you want to fully appreciate all the episodes without missing any details, it’s best to start from Volume 7 Chapter 57.
