The popular ongoing manga and anime series Boruto: Naruto Next Generations has attracted not only the fans of the great previous franchise Naruto but newcomers who love modern action adventure anime lately. It focuses on the next grand adventure of Naruto’s son and his new fellows like Sarada Uchiha and Mitsuki as well as another protagonist Kawaki.

Following the prequel series Naruto and Naruto: Shippuden completed in 2017, the anime series of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations was just began by the same anime studio Pierrot in a short time. It is based on the original manga supervised by Naruto’s manga artist Masashi Kishimoto.

In the anime series of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, the Great Sea Battle of Kirigakure Arc finished and it is entering the Kawaki & Himawari Academy Arc after some new story arcs made only for the anime series.

How many volumes does Boruto: Naruto Next Generations have?

At first, written by Masashi Kishimoto, Naruto was serialized on Weekly Shonen Jump between 1999 and 2014. It consists of 700 episodes that are collected in 72 volumes. It has been followed by the sequel title Boruto: Naruto Next Generations by Masashi Kishimoto with a writer Ukyo Kodachi and an illustrator Mikio Ikemoto since 2016. It was serialized on Weekly Shonen Jump until the middle of 2019, which moved to the brother manga magazine V Jump.

There are 18 volumes so far in the manga series of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations (the latest 17th volume published in September, 2022).

Which episode of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations to read after the anime?

There are many spin-off chapters made only for the anime series in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. The anime series concluded the Great Sea Battle of Kirigakure Arc with Chapter 255: A Tricky Assignment in June and is entering the next story Kawaki & Himawari Academy Arc in August, 2022.

The main story adapted from the original manga series ended the Kawaki Arc with Chapter 220: Remaining Time in the anime series, which corresponds to the end of Volume 14 of the manga series. If you want to the next story the Kawaki Arc in the manga series earlier than the anime, it’s recommended to read from Episode 56: Code in Volume 15.
