Amarimonogatari (余物語) was released on April 17, 2019 as the third part of Monster Season of Monogatari Series written by Nisio Isin. Following the previous title Yoimonogatari released in 2018, Amarimonogatari is the 25th volume of the entire Monogatari Series.
There are two episodes in Amarimonogatari: Yotsugi Body and Yotsugi Shadow. On the front cover, Yotsugi Ononoki wearing a white dress illustrated by Vofan.
“Amari” of the title “Amari” monogatari means “Yo” of the name “Yo” tsugi Ononoki in Japanese, so the this part centers on the Tsukumogami and Shikigami doll.

1. Yotsugi Body (Monster Season: Episode 4)
Yotsugi Body (よつぎバディ) is the first episode contained in Amarimonogatari, also positioned as the episode 4 of Monster Season. It presents the story of the Monogatari Series protagonist Koyomi Araragi after enrolling in the university.
Plot: Yotsugi Body
Set in Manase National University in immediately before the first summer break, Yotsugi Body follows Koyomi Araragi as a freshman. He is called by Hagoromo Iesumi to her laboratory, who is an associate professor at the university and teaches a course on Swiss German that Koyomi takes with his new friend Meniko Hamukai.
Associate Professor Iesumi confesses to Koyomi that she subjects her 3-year-old daughter Iie Iesumi to abuse and hasn’t been back home for three days while Iie is being left trapped in a cage in the house. Koyomi is asked to go check up on her daughter by her.
Koyomi visits her apartment after joining an apparition specialist and a Tsukumogami doll girl Yotsugi Ononoki. And, they witness a shocking scene in the baby room.

- There is a creepy handmade baby doll made of a blanket in the sturdy cage. In addition, they find a knife stabbed in the back of the doll.
To understand the strange circumstance, they visit the laboratory of Associate Professor Iesumi, however, she disappears to somewhere else.
Koyomi revisits the apartment to repair the door of the baby room that was destroyed by Yotsugi and realizes that the doll is found nowhere to be seen. In a short while, the blanket freed from the weird doll coils around and wrings his neck, and then, it flies outward.
Koyomi brings in Yotsugi again to cope with the fabric apparition, and they enter an uninvestigated room to get a clue about the missing professor. There is an adult-sized doll made of the bedding, whose face is stabbed with a knife. After their fighting with the clothing apparitions there, Yotsugi finds a palm-sized teddy bear abandoned on the rooftop of the apartment.
In the aftermath, Yotsugi implements an idea that she transforms the miniature teddy bear into an apparition by implanting her eye in its body. Following its navigation to Associate Professor Iesumi, they meet her after an interval of a week on the roof of a school building.
Just before that, Koyomi receives an e-mail from Meniko, who succeeds in deciphering a letter written in multiple languages by Associate Professor Iesumi. According to the letter that seems to be her will, she has the hideous past that she was raised confined in a cage and stunted by malnutrition since her parents wanted her to stop growing.
When she was twenty years old, she was stabbed in her back by her father but made an escape from the cage. She also says the terrible rooms with the creepy dolls is a recreation of her past.
In the final phase, the puzzle-solving story is presented by the conversation between Koyomi and Tsubasa Hanekawa, who just gets back from a vagabond trip around the world. She concludes Associate Professor Iesumi has been transformed into an apparition by her unhealthy relationship with her parents.

2. Yotsugi Shadow (Monster Season: Episode 5)
Yotsugi Shadow (よつぎシャドウ) is the second episode included in Amarimonogatari, the episode 5 of Monster Season. It is a sequel story centering on Nadeko Sengoku, who has stepped down as the Snake Goddess.
Plot: Yotsugi Shadow
Yotsugi Shadow tells the story of Nadeko Sengoku after she has relinquished her title as the Goddess to Mayoi Hachikuji. A Tsukumogami cadaveric doll girl Yotsugi Ononoki, who gets away from the house of Koyomi Araragi, approaches Nadeko.
Yotsugi introduces Nadeko to Izuko Gaen, the leader of apparition specialists. Izuko requests an investigation of a mystery: three people hang themselves from the ceiling at an apartment in a row every time new families move to the room. And, all of them are saved by the first family member to find them but scale-looking choke marks are left around their neck.

- She also promises to give an introduction to a good property for Nadeko to live on her own if she can give an excellent result in the investigation.
She embarks on research with Yotsugi, who is expropriated of her eye by Izuko as punishment for making an apparition in the previous episode, to solve the strange incidents. In the first place, Nadeko draws a sketch of the problematic room and adds Yotsugi hanging herself from the ceiling to it.
Eventually, she generates a hypothesis that the series of hanging incidents are caused by the snake curse due to someone who wants to reduce the price of the apartment. And then, Izuko chalks the curse up to Araundo, who is the root of the curse that brought Nadeko and their classmates suffering last year.
In the next phase, Izuko orders Nadeko to go to see her school friends who imprecated the curse on her.

Can you enjoy the anime adaptation of Amarimonogatari?
Unfortunately, Amarimonogatari hasn’t been adapted into the anime series yet.
Monogatari Series, the popular light novel series written by Nisio Isin, has been adapted into the anime series by Shaft since the first part Bakemonogatari aired in 2009. And then, Final Season was competed with Zoku Owarimonogatari in 2018-2019.
Many fans of Monogatari Series are wondering if the rest of the light novel parts are made into anime adaptations such as Off Season and Monster Season. The director Akiyuki Shinbo said it would depend on the anime production company Aniplex, however, we can believe they will be adapted into the anime series of Amarimonogatari with high quality in the future since the studio Shaft has created that Monogatari Series, which had been looked on impossible to be adapted into anime.
