The latest season of the trendy romantic comedy Kaguya-sama: Love Is War is coming in the spring of 2022. The season 3 titled Kaguya-sama: Love Is War -Ultra Romantic- (かぐや様は告らせたい-ウルトラロマンティック-) is also produced by A-1 Pictures as well as the previous two seasons in 2019 and 2020. Since the first season of the Isekai fantasy finished with applause, a lot of fans have looked forward to the next season of The Rising of the Shield Hero (盾の勇者の成り上がり). Finally, the second season is airing from April, 2022 after the postponement for about half a year. The original light novel written by Aneko Yusagi since 2012 is adapted into the first season of the anime series by Kinema Citrus and the second season by a different anime studio DR Movie. The Rising of the Shield Hero follows an unfortunate hero who has to survive in the Isekai world transported from the real world with the only his weapon shield.

4. Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Season 2
Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 (攻殻機動隊 SAC_2045) Season 2 is top priority for fans of the legendary cyberpunk franchise in this spring, which is scheduled to be distributed exclusively on Netflix from May, 2022. Based on the classic manga written by Masamune Shirow, the latest Stand Alone Complex series in 3DCG is directed by Kenji Kamiyama following the previous season released in 2020. SAC_2045 is set in the futuristic world in 2045, which faces economic collapse worldwide and highly develops AI technology.

Its anime adaptation is made by the anime studio CloverWorks. In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki focuses on kunoichi (female ninja) characters living in the mountain who are prohibited to contact men. A Japanese anime studio Ajia-do Animation Works is in charge of the new third season as well as the season 1-2. Ascendance of a Bookworm centers on a reincarnated bookish girl who tries to make books from scratch in the far distant past world.

More rom-com anime series are released every season recently, Aharen-san wa Hakarenai (阿波連さんははかれない) is one of the most interesting anime classified into the trendy genre mixed with slice of life. It is based on the popular ongoing Asato Mizu’s manga serialized on Shonen Jump+ since 2017. Aharen-san wa Hakarenai casts a spotlight on a high school girl Reina Aharen, who is not good at figuring out her distance with others. 9. Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie
Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie (可愛いだけじゃない式守さん) is a recommended romance and comedy anime series airing in the spring of 2022. A manga artist Keigo Maki first released the original manga of Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie on Twitter and it has been serialized on the Kodansha’s manga website Magazine Pocket since 2019, which is made into the anime series by a Tokyo anime studio Doga Kobo. It has the unique theme of a cool heroine focusing on a high schooler Izumi and his girlfriend Shikimori, who is very cute but sometimes behaves like the coolest boyfriend when they are in trouble.

10. Bubble
Bubble (バブル) is expected as one of the best anime films released in 2022, directed by Tetsuro Araki who is famous for the Attack on Titan series. Gen Urobuchi, the scriptwriter of Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and Takeshi Obata, the manga artist of Death Note, also joins the production of Bubble. Before its release at the theater in May, it will be distributed on Netflix worldwide from April 28, 2022. Bubble is set in an alternate post-apocalyptic Tokyo where is under the condition of gravitational abnormalities caused by the mysterious bubbles.
