Mappa
Mappa, whose name is an acronym for Maruyama Animation Produce Project Association, is a modern Japanese anime studio founded in 2011. It was originally formed by competent anime creators to make a 2016’s renowned anime movie In This Corner of the World, which won Animation of the Year at 40th Japan Academy Film Prize in 2017.
Mappa has got more and more famous and popular worldwide producing the top popular anime series including Attack on Titan and Jujutsu Kaisen lately.
Mappa held the commemorative event Mappa Stage 2021 -10th Anniversary- in June, 2021, and the trailer of the highly expected anime series of Chainsaw Man was released there.
1. Jujutsu Kaisen
Jujutsu Kaisen (呪術廻戦) is now one of the most popular anime series produced by Mappa. The dark-fantasy anime has been adapted from the original manga published on Weekly Shonen Jump from 2018 since the first season was released in 2020-2021 with 24 episodes. Its first anime movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was released in December, 2021, which is based on the volume 0 of the manga series. The anticipated second season of Jujutsu Kaisen has been scheduled to come in 2023.
Jujutsu Kaisen is set in a fictional Japan, where there is a conflict between Curses and Jujutsu Sorcerers. It centers on a high school boy named Yuji Itadori, who is first an ordinary man without Cursed Energy but gets it by gulping a finger of the king of the Curses called Ryomen Sukuna. He gets involved in a conspiracy about the Curses and Sorcerers with his fellows Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki and his teacher Satoru Gojo.

2. Attack on Titan The Final Season
Attack on Titan (進撃の巨人) is one of the most famous modern manga and anime series all over the world. The manga series started its serialization in 2009 and the story finally came to the end in 2021. There are four seasons of the anime adaptation aired from 2013, and the final fourth season is left entirely up to the hottest anime studio Mappa. The fourth season, which is divided into three parts, was released with the first part’s 16 episodes from the end of 2020. Attack on Titan The Final Season Part 2 was broadcasted with 12 episodes in the winter of 2022. Finally, the anime series of Attack on Titan ended with the final 7 episodes in 2023.
The action fantasy anime series focuses on the presence of Titans that threatens humanity. The protagonist Eren Yeager fights against the Titans with other Survey Corps members. 3. In This Corner of the World
In This Corner of the World (この世界の片隅に) is one of the masterpieces made by Mappa in 2016. The historical drama was serialized as a manga series between 2007 and 2009, which was adapted into the anime movie by the director Sunao Katabuchi. In This Corner of the World is famous for receiving Animation of the Year at 40th Japan Academy Film Prize in 2017. In 2019, In This Corner (and Other Corners) of the World, the extended version for an additional 40 minutes, was also released.
In This Corner of the World is set in Hiroshima around 1944 following a 18-year-old woman named Suzu. She engages with life as it is while the people confront supply shortages during the wartime and she needs to adapt herself to a new environment after marrying a civilian officer Shusaku.

4. Zombie Land Saga
Zombie Land Saga (ゾンビランドサガ) is a popular modern anime series with the theme of a Japanese regional prefecture Saga, categorized as comedy and slice of life. The first season of the anime series was created by Mappa in 2018, and the second season was released as Zombie Land Saga Revenge in 2021.
Zombie Land Saga focuses on an unknown zombie idol group Franchouchou with their goal to make Saga Prefecture energetic and gain the fame. Each character, who revives as a zombie, confronts lots of personal and public problems and overcomes them through powerful live performances, human dramas and humorous comedy.

5. Chainsaw Man
Airing from October, 2022, Chainsaw Man (チェンソーマン) has been regarded as one of the greatest works by Mappa in the recent past. It is adapted from the popular dark-fantasy manga series written by Tatsuki Fujimoto. It was originally serialized on Weekly Shonen Jump between 2018 and 2020, followed by the second part Academy Saga on Shonen Jump Plus from July, 2022.
Chainsaw Man revolves around a young poor boy named Denji, who gains the ability to turn himself into the Chainsaw Man by incorporating his pet Chainsaw Devil in his body. He fights against opposite Devils as a governmental devil hunter.
